Welcome to the Care Net Consultants community! This blog post introduces Sr Griffiths, a dedicated Occupational Health Nurse Practitioner with over 40 years of experience. Her journey with Care Net Consultants has been incredibly fulfilling, and she is excited to share a bit about her background and experiences.
A Journey Through Time and Places
Sr Griffiths began her career in Occupational Health over 40 years ago after earning a midwifery diploma. Her first significant role was at the Caltex Oil Refinery in Cape Town, where she pursued a new certificate course in Occupational Health Nursing at Tygerberg to enhance her qualifications. Her desire for further education led her to England, where she got married and started a family.
After four years, she returned to South Africa, drawn back by the allure of the South African sunshine, and settled in Johannesburg. Upon her return, she resumed her career in Occupational Health Nursing with The Cold Chain, which allowed her to experience the vast scope of this discipline. Sr Griffiths managed two clinics with a weekly doctor, played a vital role in health and safety programs, trained first aiders, and participated in family planning training and a SAMTRAC safety management course.
A Meaningful Career
Occupational Health has enabled Sr Griffiths to combine her passion for nursing and patient care with providing employees with health guidance and counseling. It is a unique field where medical knowledge intersects with legal compliance to ensure safe working practices for patients. Her dedication to her work has positively impacted many employees’ lives, ensuring their health and safety in the workplace.
