Safe, efficient and ethical occupational health.
Care Net Consultants exists to improve workplace health and safety through comprehensive occupational health, medical surveillance and related services. We work on site through our network of mobile clinics, at our fixed walk-in clinics, and through our online clinic management system, My Clinic Online.
We carry out 6 000 to 9 000 medicals a month, and we deliver them with a highly experienced team that keeps you compliant with the Occupational Health and Safety Act 85 of 1993 and the regulations that apply to your industry.
All our employees, suppliers and contributors are recognised as important and valued partners in our business. That partnership shows up in efficiency, reliability and a genuinely customer-centred way of working.
Built for South African workplaces, since 2012.
Care Net Consultants opened in 2012 with a clear aim: make occupational health medicals accurate, accessible and properly recorded. From there we grew into a national service, with four fixed walk-in clinics and 16 mobile clinics that take medicals to the workplace.
Today we carry out 6 000 to 9 000 medicals a month across more than a dozen industries, backed by My Clinic Online, our own occupational health record platform, and a clinical team trained to one standard.
Meet our Managing Director.
Care Net pairs clinical depth with a commitment to doing occupational health properly, set from the top.
Barteld sets Care Net's strategic direction and oversees the organisation's operational standards, technology and client commitments, working alongside Care Net's occupational health professionals, who provide clinical governance. As a DBA candidate at Woolf University, Malta, his research focuses on artificial intelligence and how to resolve the tension between POPIA's data protection duties and the data that medical surveillance programmes must collect and keep, so that privacy and compliance work together rather than against each other.
Qualifications: BCom, University of Pretoria; Postgraduate Taxation, GIBS Business School; MBA, University of Salford; Professional Master's in Artificial Intelligence; DBA candidate, Woolf University, Malta (EU); Certified Director (IoDSA).
Our proprietary occupational health platform.
My Clinic Online is our secure occupational health record platform, designed to support the responsible management of personal information in accordance with POPIA. It manages medical surveillance and fitness records from the first baseline medical to the exit medical, and any certificate of fitness verifies online in seconds.
For clients it means one secure source of truth: records that are audit-ready, retrievable for the periods the law requires, and protected under POPIA. It changed the way Care Net manages occupational health, from paper files that are easy to lose to a single system you can check from anywhere.
A clinical team trained to one standard.
Care Net's medicals are delivered by a qualified clinical team.
Occupational Medical Practitioners who provide medical oversight, review occupational health assessments and determine fitness for work where clinically or legally required.
Registered nurses with specialist occupational health qualifications who conduct and review occupational health assessments within their scope of practice.
Clinical staff who carry out the medical tests on site and in clinic.
Trained to run audiometry, spirometry, vision and related tests.
We run an internal training academy so that all our staff, including locum staff, are trained on a single methodology developed by our OMPs. That is how a medical at one clinic or mobile clinic matches a medical at any other, every time.
Additional services that round out compliance.
Beyond on-site and clinic medicals, we support the wider health and safety picture for your operation.
Practical training to build a safer, more compliant workforce.
Site-ready safety files prepared to meet your obligations.
Identify the hazards and prove the controls are working.
Find the root cause and close the gap so it does not recur.
The right protective equipment for the job and its risks.
POPIA-aware digital records that verify online in seconds.
A Level 2 B-BBEE business, growing our people with us.
Our Level 2 B-BBEE status, as a 41,18% Black women-owned and 51,48% Black-owned QSE, gives us a 125% B-BBEE procurement recognition level.
We are committed to empowering young people through in-house development programmes, an internal bursary programme, and smaller projects within our surrounding communities. Our skills development programme runs across levels, from the general workforce through to management, and we grow our staff with us as the business grows.
This is how we promote employment equity and live out our commitment to a more inclusive industry and society.
Credentials you can check for yourself.
Care Net's standing rests on an independent rating, statutory registrations and professional affiliations.
Your records, kept for as long as the law requires.
Health legislation sets different retention periods for different records: some are kept for 5 years, and medical surveillance records for hazardous exposure for 40 years. Paper records are easy to lose, hard to secure, and seldom survive these periods intact, which puts your POPIA compliance and your audit defence at risk. Your Care Net records sit in secure, POPIA-compliant digital storage for as long as the law prescribes, ready for audits and access requests.
One partner, both routes covered.
Choose the route that fits the job
For 10 or more workers on one site, a mobile clinic comes to you and clears the team in one planned window, weekdays and Saturdays. For one worker or a small team, walk into any of our four fixed clinics, or call ahead to book.
